Youth with a vision – Youth on the move
This video-report summarizes the youth events organized to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Henry Dunant’s idea to create the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. It includes images from Youth on the move, pictures from the Journey of an idea and the reading of the Solferino Youth Declaration in Geneva along with illustrations of the vision and statements included in the declaration developed by about 500 youth participants which calls the Movements leaders as well as the international community to action.During Youth on the move, hundreds of young people came together to discuss the humanitarian challenges of the world, and formulate their vision for a better future. Following Solferino, 120+ young people followed in the footsteps of the founder of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement by taking part in the Journey of an idea, carrying the Solferino Youth Declaration to Geneva to present it to the world. The events in Solferino and Geneva may now be over, but thanks to the vision of these hundreds of young people and the declaration they have made together, the problems have been identified, and the solutions are being found. On behalf of young Red Cross and Red Crescent volunteers the world over, they have pledged to do more, do better and reach further, and are eager to work together for a better world. You can read the Solferino Youth Declaration by visiting http://www.ifrc.org/youthdeclaration/
